What if...

What if we stopped raising girls to be girls and boys to be boys, and instead raised humans full of curiosity, emotion, and creativity?
So much of what girls experience, and boys go through, isn’t about who they are, but about the assumptions adults make about them. These assumptions shape expectations, limit opportunities, and teach children to conform before they’ve even discovered themselves.
Girls are taught to shrink, to be “polite,” to avoid risk. Boys are taught to hide emotion, to be tough, to suppress vulnerability. What if we raised children to explore their whole selves instead of fitting them into narrow boxes?
I believe we’d see more confidence, more compassion, more innovation, and a generation that doesn’t limit itself before it starts.
This idea is powerfully explored in this video (click to watch).

Let’s challenge the stories we tell about gender and give all children permission to be fully human. Reflect on your thoughts and earn your 2-hour PD certifcate.
